Edwardian Platinum Necklace with Diamond Pavé Drop and Pearl Accents, c.1910

Refined to a whisper of light, this Belle Époque pendant necklace, circa 1910, exemplifies the era’s devotion to platinum finesse and airy architecture. The elongated, pierced tear-shaped drop is pavé-set throughout with near-colorless diamonds, gathering brilliance into a soft crescendo and terminating in a single luminous pearl. Suspended from an elegant baton-and-trace linking platinum chain punctuated by further pearls, the composition balances restraint with radiance for a silhouette that lengthens the neckline and flatters the décolletage. Weighing approximately 11.2 grams, with an overall necklace length of 16 inches, the pendant measures 1½ inches from top to pearl and 7/16 inch across. Total diamond weight approximately 0.90 carat, G–H colour, VS–SI clarity. Pearls have not been tested for natural or cultured origin. In good condition, this jewel distills the optimism of the Belle Époque—graceful, feather-light, and designed to scintillate in candlelight and beyond.
